A big part of North Sound Youth and Family Coalition's (YFC) purpose is to find out what is working and what needs improvement in our child/youth behavioral health System of Care by directly asking people who have accessed services. We want to do that in a way that gives youth and families the power to do something with that knowledge. YFC centers the concerns and ideas of young people and caregivers by:

  • Sharing responsibility for the design of our Strengths and Needs Assessment,

  • Assigning ownership of the data to those most impacted, and

  • Utilizing data in ways that educate and inform YFC’s youth, families, and system partners.

Our current research plan was developed by a group of youth, family members, and system partners in the Summer of 2021. The questions were updated by YFC's Leadership Team after it reviewed the data from our 2022 Strengths and Needs Assessment.

  1. What systemic barriers exist to keep children, youth, and families from accessing needed services?

  2. What does mental health and substance recovery mean to children, youth, and families in the North Sound region?

YFC is inviting youth and families that are engaged with the most intensive behavioral health supports to help us answer these questions. These are the folks with the experience necessary to help us understand how the system is working in our region. Because your feedback is so very valuable, YFC is offering $100 gift cards for participation to:

  • Young people who have applied for and/or received WISe or CLIP services, and

  • Caregivers of a young person who has applied for and/or received WISe or CLIP services.

Join us to share your experience, knowledge, and insights so that, together, we can make things better for young people and families in the North Sound region!
